Karearea's little measuring machines!

The akonga in Karearea have become little measuring machines! We are learning about length, how we measure it, and the units we measure different things with. Centimetres and millimetres are hard words to say!
Today we did lots of measuring using our 30 cm rulers, and tomorrow we'll be going outside with our metre rulers looking to measure larger objects and areas. Ask your children what they measured today. :-)

Briar's wonderful writing.

Our Lions writing group are masters at setting the scene in a story. Briar has done a wonderful job describing this stormy scene. Well done Briar!

KAPA HAKA!

We're learning Kapa Haka at the moment with Whaea Maryanne. It's great for our hand-eye co-ordination. We can't wait to show you when we've finished! Stay tuned.......

Great job Maddie!

This young lady has had a tough time lately. She broke her arm way up high near her shoulder and had to be super careful not to hurt it again. This week she finally got out of her sling.
I'm super proud of her and also the kids in Karearea who were careful around her for so long. "No hugging!", was hard when we wanted her to feel better!

Great job Maddie, we're proud of you!

Welcome Back!

It was great to see 28 keen kids pouring back into Karearea this morning! We had lots of fun with some shapes today. Check out some of the pictures we created! They were allowed 10 pieces to make their picture.
