Jake's flyboard writing

I was so proud of Jake's efforts writing about a man on a flyboard today. He has included lots of amazing features in his writing. Keep working hard young man, you're turning into a terrific writer!

R-2-D-TUI!

Jake, Malakai, Remi, Tavish and I got very excited today. We saw a tui at lunchtime. It was singing away as we went closer and we were able to go right under the tree and listen! The boys thought his chirping sounded like R2D2 from Star Wars, so we called him R2DTui! We hope to have more tui around school and will be putting some traps down next term to try and protect tui eggs in the area.

Karearea's last Olympic event.

Karearea finished their Olympic theme off this week with a spectacular 'Crab Race!' Congratulations to our medal winners and commiserations to poor Lexie M who fractured her pinkie!

Ellah's beautiful cat!

I was blown away by Ellah's amazing writing today. Her new learning goals are adding similes and commas to her writing.  Sometimes you see a piece of writing which knocks your socks off! Tino pai Ellah!

KAREAREA'S OLYMPIC FRISBEE RELAY!

We had a lot of fun with a frisbee relay event last week. It was great to have some sunny afternoons and get outside for some Olympic fun! Our kids were in teams and had to use teamwork to get their frisbee across the finish line first. Chaos ensued! But it was great to see the kids work together to try and win their medals.
Then we gave the winners their medals and sang the National Anthem! Congrats to all the kids on a fantastic afternoon.
